General Manager Job Posting
Open General Manager position with a privately held corrugated packaging manufacturer in the Mid-South. Candidate must possess the ability to lead a team of over 80 employees in the areas of production, sales and administration while supported by an experienced and competent staff. Candidate is accountable for the financial performance of the facility and reports directly to the CEO and COO of the consolidated organization. Serves on the Executive Committee of the consolidated company and is involved with strategic decisions.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Competencies)
Bachelor's degree in business or relevant field of study preferred, with 10 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Possesses a solid understanding of financial matters and the ability to communicate them to employees
Adept at lean manufacturing practices
Understands capital planning, equipment procurement and project management
Manages vendor selection and vendor rating
Focused on operating a safe work environment and maintaining compliance with laws and regulations
Extensive sales and production background
Possesses inspirational and motivational leadership skills
Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
Proven analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Exceptional customer service orientation
Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Conducts business in a professional, moral and ethical manner
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive business information and employee matters
Favorably represents the facility through regular participation in community events, philanthropy and industry associations

Normal working conditions in an office environment absent extreme factors. Mobility required to move about the physical facilities of the plant as required. Long hours and varied time schedules may be required. Travel of up to 20% may be required to attend various meetings and corporate functions.
